In recognition of the newly enacted Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, which established June 19th as a Federal Holiday, Entegra Systems added an 11th paid Holiday to its comprehensive benefits package – effective immediately. “It was important for us to support this significant holiday, which commemorates the anniversary of the day in 1865 when the last group of enslaved Black Americans were freed by Union troops. We decided to give our employees an extra paid holiday to observe and reflect on the meaning of this day and the impact it will have on our communities”, said Dean Johnson, President.
In learning of the extra day off, employees were very appreciative. Michael wrote “…I just wanted to thank you sincerely for the generosity you all showed in including this new and unexpected holiday in our benefits package. I can’t imagine anyone would blame you for choosing to have employees use their own PTO considering how sudden the change was and how rare these types of things are (and for good reason). Speaking as a new employee I really could not imagine a more effective way to instill espirit de corps in Entegra than for you all to not only ultimately make this choice but to do so (seemingly) without hesitation. Thank you again!”
